Starting April 30th, the Arcium Public Testnet will roll out gradually in three phases—users will begin testing applications powered by Arcium and eventually run nodes to fuel encrypted computations on Solana. We have put together a launch guide to give you an overview of what to expect and how you can best prepare.

A new beginning for onchain privacy

For too long, blockchains have operated with complete transparency, slowing down innovation and preventing the emergence of much-needed privacy solutions. At the same time, the internet has been plagued by opacity, leading to leaks and exploits. With Arcium, we’re redefining the software layer for private data — not just for blockchain use-cases, but also for traditional enterprises.

Our private testnet received over 50,000 applications, signaling strong demand for building encrypted applications. Since then, we've built and tested several powerful demos — including dark pools, encrypted AI marketplaces, and fully private on-chain blackjack — to showcase new use-cases possible with encrypted computation.

We're approaching network development in structured, iterative phases — starting small, testing hard, and gradually opening up to third-party contributors as the system stabilizes. The testnet will roll out in three phases, adding new features and functionality over time as we approach the mainnet.

Arcium Rollout Phases 🛠️

Arcium will ship with fully featured tooling and working demos out of the box, with staking mechanisms and third-party node operators being added in subsequent phases.

Phase 1: Test, Demo, Iterate (<1 month)

  • Clusters are run and managed internally by the Arcium team
  • Select 3rd party node operators may be invited in, depending on early stability
  • A live Arcium Network explorer
  • Few demo apps will go live based on votes happening on gmpc.xyz.

Some applications that are popular include Dark Pool, Battleship, Blackjack, Encrytped Data Marketplace and more!

Phase 2: Stake, Scale, Decentralize (~2 months)

  • Open up for third-party node operators
  • Improved preprocessing model
  • Launch testnet token staking and delegation mechanisms

Phase 3: Scale Private Compute (~2 months)

  • Introduce batch processing for performance and scalability gains
  • Reveal some partner applications and prepare for mainnet launch

We're still exploring timelines for some advanced features like identifiable abort and boolean backend. More phases could be added depending on progress. Check out our newly updated docs to get familiar with Arcium!

The role of gmpc.xyz

Our recent launch of gmpc.xyz, the public domain of the Arcium community, will be integral to Public Testnet. Our goal is to converge builders and community members, giving every type of community member the opportunity to have a lasting impact on Arcium, together.

Currently, users can vote for the applications they want to see launched in Public Testnet. We encourage as many people to participate to ensure you get the applications you want. Go vote here

Voting now live on gmpc.xyz

As Public Testnet launches, new features will be added to gmpc.xyz to enable users to easily learn about Arcium, interact with applications, give feedback on the overall network, and more! If you haven't visited gmpc.xyz yet, you’re missing out.

To recap

With the Arcium Public Testnet, participants will be able to:

  • Build out any application they desire, with fully-featured tooling and broad developer support.
  • Test out demo applications powered by the Arcium Network.
  • Run nodes to power the network, regardless of computational power.
  • Stake and delegate testnet tokens to contribute to decentralization and security
  • Converge with gmpc.xyz

Get ready for Public Testnet Launch
